Kenny Chesney, Jake Owen
1st Headliners Announced
For 2016 Runaway Country Music Festival
Old Dominion Also Confirmed
6th annual Runaway Country, March 18-20, 2016.
Runaway Country Executive Producer, Gary McCann said today, “We are thrilled to announce the first of many artists to Florida’s county music festival. Jake Owen will headline opening night, Friday, March 18. Kenny Chesney will close out the 2nd day of the 3-day weekend taking the stage at 9:00 o’clock Saturday evening.”
Preparations are under way to welcome music fans to Kissimmee’s Osceola Heritage Park.
Robb Larson, OHP General Manager said, “The park is being transformed into a festival paradise with several stages, thousands of campsites, and a spacious concert bowl. The festival site looks great. You can worship the music under the Florida sun or enjoy today’s hottest country stars while relaxing in the shade of one hundred-year-old oak trees. We are in for a real treat.”
McCann continued, “Runaway Country will again bring in the nation’s largest mobile stage, sitting 4 stories high, combined with Nashville’s best audio and light show. The 6th annual promises to be one heck of a weekend. Kenny Chesney, Jake Owen and Old Dominion certainly have us off to an amazing start.”
Back again for 2016, the popular Outer Limits Party Zone and My Apartment.
“These are dance clubs, taverns and side-stages with performances by many artists who should be on the Main Stage, if we only had more time,” explained Doug Baker, VP Marketing and Sponsorships. “Maybe some day we will go around the clock!”
Baker continued, “Music, dining, shopping all day, then when the Main Stage goes dark, the festival transforms into an after-hours nightclub with more live entertainment for those with big stamina.”
The weekend begins Friday at 11am running through to Sunday evening. More artists will be announced in the coming weeks.
Runaway Country takes place the 3rd weekend of March at Osceola Heritage Park. Located on US Hwy. 192 approx. 30 minutes east of Disney World and 12 miles south of Orlando International Airport.
McCann concluded, “Last year we hosted visitors from 39 states, 10 countries and just about every county in Florida leaving an estimated local economic impact of almost $7 million. Great music, a fun weekend and good for the economy, too.”
Music fans can choose from thousands of campsites and more than 30,000 hotel rooms for every budget and taste within 10-20 minutes of the festival site.
Single-day and weekend ticket packages are on sale now.

Runaway Country Music Fest confirmed they have leased a 17,000 sq. ft., air-conditioned warehouse with offices and production studios at The Port.
Executive Producer, Gary McCann said, “We are thrilled to combine our production offices and warehouse at one location and to be a part of the exciting action around the Port. With Runaway Country preparing to stage the 5th annual music festival in Wickham Park this coming March, we have been busy with requests to produce additional events including more music festivals, celebrations of beer, wine and food, restaurant promotions, corporate events, marketing strategies and national promotion tours for key clients. The new location has received inquiries from out of town visitors, which hopefully will translate into more business for Space Coast hotels, restaurants and other tourism related companies.
Located directly across the street from the Florida Beer Company, who recently staged their grand opening, McCann was asked if that could be a location too close for comfort.
“Yes it’s probably too close,” McCann laughed. “Considering discipline has never been our strongest asset, our new address next to a brewery should be quite the place to celebrate…anything and everything.”
Runaway Country is making their offices and warehouse available on a few select dates to companies and individuals looking for a unique venue to hold an event.
According to McCann, “The demand for unique and eclectic is on the rise. We are booking a few drive-thru weddings and a couple of Christmas parties.”
Runaway Production assistant Tara Miller explained, “Now you and your spouse can ride directly into your wedding reception sitting on the back of a convertible, park it right next to the dance floor, then ride straight out the other door, directly to your cruise ship at The Port. How cool is that?”
Doug Baker, VP of Marketing and Sponsorship for Runaway Country added, “Several companies are looking to reward their employees in an exciting atmosphere. Christmas party inquiries are at the top of the list while another is looking at a themed dinner for charity. It’s an exciting time around here.”
McCann concluded, “We are thrilled to be working with designers Angela Braid and Brandy Beckstein. We have given them a blank canvas to do awesome work for those hosting a warehouse event.”
In the meantime, McCann and crew are busy preparing to announce the line-up for the 2015 Runaway Country Music Fest. The first announcements will be made at a pre-party on the Crowne Plaza Ocean Deck Sept. 4th, 6PM – 9PM. The party is open to the public and admission is free.

Hopefully, you found your way into “My Apartment” this past year at Runaway Country. Inside, in addition to the bar and stage, there were three suites each decorated in the theme of one of our headliners: The Band Perry, Toby Keith & Keith Urban. Each year we plan to redecorate the suites to reflect the artists appearing at the festival, so that means you now have a chance to grab some of what you saw in “My Apartment” during the 2014 show.
